Microenterprises
Skill-building with purpose
Our microenterprise programs give clients a chance to create, earn, and take part in work that’s purposeful and their own. From hand-poured candles to homegrown plants, each item is made by individuals in our program—carefully with support from a team that understands how much goes into every step.
These projects aren’t just about making something to sell
They’re about practicing real life in a safe environment. Along the way, clients build skills in coordination, planning, budgeting, decision-making, and creative expression.

What We Make
Our microenterprises vary by season, interest, and availability—but each one is created and led by the individuals in our program. Here's what clients are currently making:
Fleece Tie Blankets
Clients select the fabric and patterns themselves, then hand-tie and package each blanket
Candles
Poured in small batches using clean, natural ingredients and recycled containers
Sugar Scrubs
Made with essential oils and gentle ingredients; customers can return containers for reuse
Bar Soap
Made completely from scratch in program
Laundry Detergent
Simple, effective, and made start to finish in-house
Clothespin Wreaths
Assembled and painted with attention to color and detail
Art
Original canvas pieces, mixed media, and other artwork created both during program and at home
Plants
Clients propagate spider, snake, and other houseplants from clippings and care for them until they’re ready to sell or donate
LEGO Sorting & Resale
A long-standing favorite for some clients who enjoy structure and focus work
Each project supports different types of learning: following multi-step instructions, using fine motor skills, managing time, and working independently or in groups. More than anything, they offer a way to take ownership of something, and see that effort reflected in the finished product.
