Applied Behavior Analysis

ABA is the foundation of everything we do. It’s not talk therapy—it’s a practical, flexible approach to understanding behavior, identifying what’s getting in the way of success, and helping people learn new skills in its place.

Here’s what that looks like:
Identifying a goal: What does this individual want or need to do?
Creating a plan: What steps and supports will help them get there?
Practicing with purpose: We use repetition, reinforcement, and real-life settings to build and sustain skills.
Adapting as needed: If something isn’t working, we change course—always based on data, progress, and client needs.
ABA isn’t a stand-alone therapy here—it shapes how we approach every part of our programming, from daily routines to creative projects and community engagement.

Behavioral Therapy

While ABA informs everything we do, some individuals benefit from focused one-on-one therapeutic support—especially when behaviors interfere with safety, learning, or daily life. That’s where our behavioral therapy services come in.

We work one-on-one to understand the why behind these behaviors, and then help individuals learn alternative skills to get their needs met. This often includes:
Functional communication training (FCT) to help individuals express wants, needs or emotions
Strategies that build tolerance and comfort in daily experiences
Skill-building tools that reduce frustration and increase autonomy
Data-driven support that evolves with each person’s growth
We’re not here to change who someone is—we’re here to help them access more of the world around them in a way that feels safe and sustainable.

Educational & Habilitative Services

At Achievements Unlimited, nearly everything we do is educational in nature. We teach the kinds of skills that help individuals engage more fully with their lives—both at home and in the community. These aren’t just lessons; they’re stepping stones toward greater independence and a better quality of life.

Our educational and habilitative services include:
Daily living skills: cooking, hygiene, cleaning, medication management, budgeting
Vocational skills: job interviewing, workplace expectations, time management
Leisure and social learning: art, gardening, games, group outings
Functional academics: math, reading, writing—tailored to the individual
We practice these skills in real-life environments: at the grocery store, during community outings, while preparing meals or running errands for the program. Everything is individualized.

Frequently Asked Questions

Who do you serve?

We support individuals aged 14 and up with intellectual and developmental disabilities, including autism, mental health conditions, and other complex support needs.

Do you accept insurance?

Most services are funded through Medicaid. We do not currently accept private insurance.

How is ABA different from traditional therapy?

ABA focuses on behavior—what’s happening, why it’s happening, and how we can support meaningful change. Unlike talk therapy, ABA uses structured teaching, data collection, and reinforcement strategies to help individuals build new skills and reduce behaviors that may limit their quality of life.

How long does someone stay in the program?

There’s no one-size-fits-all timeline. Some clients reach their goals and transition out; others continue with us long term. Our services adapt to the individual and their progress.

Do you support individuals with high behavioral needs?

Yes. We have experience supporting individuals with complex behavioral challenges. Our team is trained to respond with care, consistency, and a deep understanding of behavioral science.

Where do services take place?

We provide services in settings that best meet the needs of the individual—whether that’s one-on-one, in small groups, classroom settings, or out in the community.

Is this a day program?

Yes, but not in the traditional sense. Our programs are highly individualized and designed to grow with each person over time. What someone does during their day with us depends entirely on their needs, strengths, and goals.

Can someone who struggles to leave the house participate?

Yes. Many of the individuals we support begin with very limited community access. We start where they’re comfortable—whether that’s at home, in one room, or in a small group—and build outward, at their pace.
