Thank You!

We want to thank the Productive Living Board (PLB) for approving our grant and our generous donors from the STL Gives campaign for helping us raise enough money to pay off not one but both of our vans. These vans are vital to our program and will allow us to develop new and exciting activities within the community for our clients.

As many know, COVID necessitated us changing our program activities quite a bit and prevented us from many of the community activities that our clients love and that help them generalize the skills we are teaching them on-site into their greater community. We are excited to get back out in the community and expand our learning activities. In addition, with these vans paid in full, we are now able to channel those funds towards increasing our staffs’ wages. We have the best staff that I have ever been lucky enough to work with and who show the most loving and compassionate care for our clients daily. This increase is much deserved for all of the hard work they do on a daily basis.

OPEN HOUSE

FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 4th 5:00–7:00 PM

We are happy to announce that we will be having an open house on Friday, November 4th from 5-7 pm to finally allow donors and caregivers to see our newer facility in Bridgeton. It is hoped that this will allow all to see the upgraded facilities and where our clients spend their days while participating in activities and experiencing the therapeutic services that we provide. We hope to see you there!

Program Updates

As was mentioned, when COVID hit we had to make some drastic changes to our day-to-day programming and unfortunately had to curb much of our daily living skills classes and prevocational classes to allow for safe interactions within the program. We are happy to say that these adjustments paid off and we were able to remain open and support our beloved clients through the pandemic. Now that we are getting back in the swing of things we will be expanding these programs again for both on-site and community activities. We are excited to partner with other non-profits in the area such as The St. Louis Crisis Nursery, Keyway Center for Diversion and Re-entry, and Home Sweet Home, to name a few. Be on the lookout for updated activities shared on our social media accounts and in upcoming quarterly newsletters.

In Memorium

As many of you know, AU lost two very important and beloved members of our AU family in September. We wanted to honor them and share some great memories that we had with them.
